  1. I’m Larry LaFleur, a retired pastor in Sulphur, La. at my birth my dad managed the Avelon. Mr earlier memories are riding my tricycle in the dance floor and sitting on
The bandstand listening to Doug Kirshaw play fiddle and sing.

  2. Hello, does anyone know of a book that covered the old dancehalls in cajun country? I seen it one time with a long article and pictures of John Quincy Davis but do not remember the name of the book. I found one that is called Ghost of Good Times but I do not think that was it. Any help is appreciated.

    • It might be Johnnie Allan’s book: Memories: A pictorial history of South Louisiana music, volume I & II combined, 1920s-1990s : South Louisiana and East Texas musicians
