Catherine Lafleur St. Cyr
My folks, Alexander and Lima Lafleur, owned the land on which the Rose Garden sat. There was a restaurant and bar within the building. Their grocery store was part of the building on the right side. The hall was a hot spot during the 1950s. This was a regular for all the students from Washington High School. Many people came from all around and many soldiers from Fort Polk came on a regular bases. The music was Cajun French. My Dad had a bush track on the grounds next to the hall with races held on Sunday in season.

My Grandfather was a co-owner of the Rose Garden. I am searching old pictures taken during that time period. Please contact me at 337-351-9824.
