I danced there in 1964/65. I was driving a new 1964 GTO Aqua green and black vinyl top with M/T mags. Me and my 2 friends Courtney and Donnie use to go to Bantam when Van Broussard played. There were plenty of girls and Country club malt beer. There was alot of fights that carried on outside in the large ditches, so we stayed in and danced with a lot more girls to choose from. When we left the Bantam club we stopped at Eddie’s lounge on Airline hwy. in Lutcher la. and danced some more. These times were the best. Today i learned that Donnie passed away at 80 yrs. It really made me think about how much i cherished Donnie and Courtney’s friendship. At 76 i don’t have much time to go dancing and spooking the pretty girls any more.
