Hollis Bodreaux- “Crowley’s famous Green Acres was a nightclub in south Crowley with our very own Paul Marx heading up the entertainment every Friday and Saturday nights. It was a large place so you can almost call it a dance hall. If you wanted a table you had to get there early, it was standing room only always. Owner Ladd Morgan was very strict on minors not coming in so there was always id checks at the door and at the bar also if you didn’t look old enough. Paul played a great variety of dance music. I mentioned SRO but you should have seen it on the Fourth of July, which is also Paul’s birthday, man what a party. I have a huge family from Crowley and Lyons point and when someone would get married the after reception party would spill into Green Acres. Years later Paul bought the property, remodeled it to more of a dance hall environment and had top bands from the area.”
