Wilson Leonard had a van that he would drive around to collect patrons who did not have transportation to his place. Leonard’s Tavern had air conditioning in 1960- a rare occurrence for the area- it was so noteworthy that it was advertised on his sign out front. Lou Millet and his Rock A Billy Dance band were one of the most popular draws. Many of the entertainers came from Plaqumines and Baton Rouge area. Erwin Babin & band, Bayou Pigeon locals who played country music, played there regularly in the 50s and 60s as well.
